Meet the author
Hi! My name is Janet Castrejon. I'm the author of Simplified Spanish. I live in the United States in the state of California with my husband, who is Mexican, and my two children, who we have raised in a bilingual household. I learned Spanish as a second language, just like you! I studied abroad in Spain when I was in college, lived in Mexico for about a year and also lived in Puerto Rico for about three years.
As far as my credentials, I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in Spanish education and a minor in teaching English as a second language. I also have a master’s degree in education from California Polytechnic State University in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Educational Technology. I hold a California teaching credential (in Spanish education and bilingual education) and an authorization in Computer Concepts and Applications. I also have a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Professional Certificate which I obtained from the University of California in Santa Barbara.
