The following is a list of key vocabulary that you will need to know to understand the lesson. This is a long list, but don't be intimidated, because many words are similar to the word in English (like medicina and medicine). Click on the word to hear the pronunciation.

► hospital (m) = hospital
► clínica (f) = clinic
► signo vital (m) = vital sign
► medicina (f) = medicine
► paciente (m/f) = patient
► inyección (f) = injection, shot
► nota (f) = note
► registro médico (m) = medical record
► instrucción (f) = instruction
► correo (m) = mail, post office
► carta (f) = letter

Here is a list of verbs used in the reading exercise.

► asignar = to assign (regular -ar verb)
► supervisar = to supervise (regular -ar verb)
► revisar = to check (regular -ar verb)
► distribuir = to distribute (Irregular verb - Add a letter Y in all forms except nosotros and vosotros.)
distribuyo, distribuyes, distribuye, distribuimos, distribuís, distribuyen
► administrar = to administer (regular -ar verb)
► seguir = to follow (e → i stem-changing verb AND irregular yo form)
sigo, sigues, sigue, seguimos, seguís, siguen
► llevar = to carry, to wear (regular -ar verb)
► colocar = to put, to place (regular -ar verb)
► manejar = to drive* (regular -ar verb)
► apagar = to put out (extinguish), to turn off (regular -ar verb)
► cargar = to carry (regular -ar verb)
► arrestar = to arrest (regular -ar verb)
► proteger = to protect (orthographic change in yo form)
protejo, proteges, protege, protegemos, protegéis, protegen
► examinar = to examine (regular -ar verb)
► ejecutar = to carry out (regular -ar verb)

*The verb manejar is more commonly used for the verb drive in Latin America, while conducir is used for drive in Spain.
