Lesson 12 - Horario (Schedule)

Vocabulary

Language Focus: Days of the week

Classroom activities: Each day in class ask the students what day it is and write it on the board.

Grammar

Language Focus: Present tense -er verbs

Classroom activities:
1) Charades - Print out the -er verbs cards, ideally on card stock and cut them out. Mix up the cards and have one student draw a card. The student acts out the verb while the others guess what it is. You could do this activity as a whole class or make multiple sets of cards and have them do it in small groups (4 students?).

2) Conjugate verbs - Use the Subject Pronoun Cards from lesson 3 (pull out the English subject pronouns and use only the Spanish ones) and the -er verbs cards. Have students draw a verb card and a subject pronoun and conjugate the verb. If they get it correct, they get a point.

Dialogue

Language Focus: Days and present tense verbs

Classroom activities: Have students write sentences about one thing that they do each day of the week using the verbs that they've learned so far.

  • Example
  • Los domingos leo un libro.

Reading
