Classroom activities: Pictionary - Students pick one of the foods and draw a picture of it on the board to communicate it to their team.

Grammar

Language Focus: How to use the words mucho and poco, how to use the word ending -ísimo to make a word emphatic

Classroom activities: The students work in pairs asking and answering questions about what they have in their kitchen at home. If they have a medium amount, they can just pick one (mucho or poco). Make sure that mucho or poco agrees in gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural) with the noun.

Dialogue

Language Focus: Grocery shopping dialogue

Classroom activities: Have students practice with the dialogue in pairs.

Reading

Language Focus: Nutrition reading

Classroom activities: Have students write down in Spanish everything that they eat during a 24-hour period. Then have them label each food by category (fruta, vegetal, etc). Have students discuss in pairs or small groups if they were able to meet the USDA recommendations and what changes they will make in their diet to try to be healthier.

Quiz

Have the students review any portions of the lesson that they made mistakes in on the quiz.
