► cálido (cálida) = warm
► playa (f) = beach

► mar (m/f) = sea*
► marisco (m) = seafood
► delicioso (deliciosa) = delicious
► hoja (f) = leaf
► cambiar = to change
► tomar = to take, to drink**
► chocolate (m) = chocolate
► caliente = hot

*The word mar (sea) can be masculine or feminine (el mar/la mar).

**You previously learned that beber is to drink. The verb tomar is also commonly used for to drink.

EMILIO - Julio es mi mes favorito porque el clima es cálido. En julio viajo a la playa con mi familia. Nadamos en el mar y comemos mariscos deliciosos. ¿Cuál es tu mes favorito?
LUPE - Mi mes favorito es noviembre. Las hojas cambian de color y son muy bonitas. Uso mi suéter y tomo chocolate caliente en el otoño.

Translate the sentence to describe why each person likes their favorite month. Refer back to the dialogue and vocabulary list if you forget how to say something. Don't forget to use correct capitalization, accents and punctuation, or the computer will mark it as incorrect.

Dictation

Dictations are great for practicing listening and spelling in Spanish. Click on "Listen" to hear the dictation of a sentence.
